Our current account is available to members who are residents of the Republic of Ireland and aged 12 years or over. Parental Consent is required for Members aged under 16 years who wish to open an account – click here to apply.
How to open a current account for members
Click here to access online banking and log into your online banking. Once in the member’s area, select the ‘Launch Now‘ button on the online banking tile.
Under your account balances, you will see a ‘New Current Account‘ button – click this. Fill out the details required and tick the declarations. Select if you wish to add a Visa Debit Card. Finally, submit your application and our team will set up your new current account!
Please note, under 18’s will need to provide parental consent before they can transact, and students will need to provide proof of academic attendance to waive maintenance fees.
How to Apply for a Current Account if you are Already a Member

Switch your current account in 3 simple steps
You may want to switch your current account because your fees are too high, you are unhappy with the service, or you just want to support your local Credit Union. If you decide to switch your current account, we have made it as simple as 1, 2, 3!
- If you are not a member, you will need to join us. To join, you must live or work within our common bond. Once you are a member, you can then open a current account.
- Pick a date to switch your current account – try and pick a quiet period where there is the least activity on your account.
- Fill out our switching form and we’ll take care of the rest. Make sure you notify anyone who lodges money into your account that you have a new one – this includes employers, state payments, income from share dividends, etc.
Any active direct debits and standing orders will be switched to your new current account, along with your account balance.
We can now use your mobile phone to pay with your Credit Union Debit Mastercard© wherever you see the Apple Pay, Google Pay or contactless logo in store, online or in app.

What are the monthly fees for a Credit Union current account?
At just €4 per month, we have one of the lowest monthly charges on the market. This fee includes chip & PIN transactions, contactless payments, ATM withdrawals, direct debit fees, and much more.
What is the minimum age for a current account?

Can I use my card for shopping online?
Yes. You can shop at participating websites using your debit card. When shopping online using your Visa Debit card, you may be asked to enter a password you created along with a one time passcode sent to your phone. This helps us to ensure you’re you and better protects you from fraud. You will receive details on how to set up your online shopping password with your Visa Debit card.
