Joining is simple – just 3 steps!
Check your eligibility and apply online
You can join if you live or work within our common bond. [Link to address checker]. Choose an Adult or Juvenile Membership and complete the relevant application form.
Provide your documents
We’ll need proof of identity, proof of address and proof of your PPS number. You can provide these in whichever way suits you:
- Upload them securely using the ID-Pal link we’ll send you
- Email them to membership@clcu.ie, including your contact details
- Bring them to any CLCU branch
Complete your membership
Once we receive your application and documents, our Membership Team will contact you to sign your Membership Form and finalise your account.
You’re ready to go… You’ll receive your account details and Member Pack. You can then register for Online Banking and download the CLCU App.

What Do I Need To Join?
If you live or work within our Common Bond area you’re halfway there!
Adult Membership
- Photo ID: Passport or Driving Licence (must be in date)
- Proof of Address: Bank statement or utility bill (within the last 6 months)
- Proof of PPSN: Payslip, Medical Card, EU Health Card, Revenue letter or Department of Social Protection letter.
Juvenile Membership
- proof of id: Birth Cert/ Passport for child
- Proof of PPSN: Document showing PPS number and name
- Proof of address for the child: A letter from the school
- Photo ID for a parent/guardian: Passport or Driving Licence (must be in date)
- Proof of Address for parent/guardian: Bank statement or utility bill (within the last 6 months)

How do I open an Account?
Opening an account is easy – complete our online application form to get started. You will receive a confirmation email which includes a link to the ID Pal mobile app. Simply download ID Pal and use the app to submit your ID documents – our Membership team will be in touch within 1 business day* to finalise your application. You can watch our Application Form Tutorial Video to learn how to complete the online form.
If you are unable to complete an application online, contact us and our Membership team will be in touch. Please note that you must live or work in our common bond to become a member.

What is the CLCU common bond?
The common bond is the geographical area in which a person must live or work to join Croí Laighean Credit Union. Check out our common bond here.
I have not used my account in 3 years or more. How can I reactivate it?
If an account has not had any Member transactions in the past 3 years, it will be classified as a Dormant Account. If this occurs, you will not be able to make any transactions until it has been reactivated.
To reactivate your account – you will need to complete our online application form, providing your current details. You will then receive a confirmation email with a link to the ID Pal mobile app. Simply download ID Pal and submit your identification documents – our membership team will then contact you within 1 business day* to finalise your application.

How do I upload my ID and documents?
When you submit your online application, you will receive a confirmation email. This email includes a link to download the ID Pal mobile app from the Apple and Google Play stores.
Simply download the app and snap pictures of your ID/documents to complete the application process. You can watch our ID Pal Tutorial Video to learn how to use ID Pal.
